A Musician's Piano Tuner
Bill Pillmore has been a musician for over 45 years and added Piano Tuner to the last 35 of those years. He studied piano tuning in Georgia and apprenticed for 13 months with a tuning and rebuild company in Edison, New Jersey. He later worked in a large retail piano store in Houston,Texas as a tuner and advanced to the store's troubleshooter and lead technician. In the 10 years before he moved to Asheville he had a piano tuning business in NE Florida.
Bill's 35 year background includes tuning, pitch raising, voicing, repairs, rebuilding and restorations. He has worked on instruments of various makes and styles - from a missionary pump organ to Steinway and Bosendorfer concert grands. His Florida clients include Douglas Anderson School of the Performing Arts, University of North Florida's music faculty and past chair; Jacksonville University faculty; musicale groups, schools, students as well as concert pianists. His training in tuning along with his appreciation and understanding of music as a musician makes him a unique technician.
Bill's personal interest in songwriting has led him to develop a mobile recording studio. He has recorded CDs with numerous artists; church choirs and musicians; piano teacher recitals; conservatory audition samples as well as demos for the professional and beginning musician.
